Dude, that river view from our room was insane! We soaked up fall colors while chillin' on the terrace for breakfast-seriously, cant beat that. Indoor spa was our go-to for some R&R. Just wish the bar was open longer. It was a real bummer missing that while chilling. Super charming, but kinda wacky!

We had a truly lovely time, from the beginning to the end. We carried huge luggage but they gave us a lift from the pier to the hotel entrance, (we will remember the kindness and patience of the driver who went all through the crowded road) the room was upgraded and superb, the staff helpful and meals delicious. We regret we only stayed one night.
I would change the curtains, though there were sun screens so not a real problem. But it would be nicer if they were practical as well, not just decorations.

A beautiful hotel in a very picturesque town (which does, unfortunately, gets a huge number of visitors - admittedly, we were 2 of them). Excellent breakfast buffet. Professional and friendly staff.
It was all good. No air-con means the rooms can be very warm in hot weather, but the fabric of the building probably doesn't allow for air-con while maintaining the feel of the place, so I think they've made the right choice.

fine, fine, fine
The views from the hotel terrace overlooking the Danube were nothing short of amazing, especially during dinner while enjoying live piano music. I loved the unique breakfast offerings, particularly the locally produced apricot jam. Plus, the heated outdoor pool was perfect for a refreshing swim while soaking in those gorgeous river views.
would recommend ❤️😊

Very nice location, nicely decorated both in the room or other premises (lobby, dining room, bar). Staff kind and helpfull, especially by the dinner - they prepared us a meal out of the menu - exactly as we demanded, very promptly, reasonable priced. Wellness also very nice.
technical facilities in the room - I can accept the fact that air- conditioning in the rooms probably would damage the historical style of the building. In fact - Lower Austria does not have so many tropic days in summer. But I do not see any reason that there is no minibar in the room.

It was a wonderful place to stay with a great location.
The room furnishings were lacking. Not really antique, not really in good shape.

We loved the town and the setting. We also thought the hotel itself was quite charming.
We found the restaurant to be only fair. We thought the beds were dated in decor and not particularly comfortable at all! We would recommend this hotel only because of the setting in the town and as a get away from the city.

Positive, Amazing atmosphere with friendly staff. The breakfast buffet was fantastic, complete with champagne and fresh juice. Our room seemed like a castle, and the views of the ruins were very nice. The outdoor dining area and live music added to the charm. We can't wait to come back 😊

The Schloss has been cleverly adapted as a hotel and sits right on the Danube at the end of the street in this mystical village. It reeks atmosphere and takes one back to distant times past, but with all the modern facilities. Our suite was large overlooking the river and we were fascinated by the barges and cruise vessels as they battled their way upstream or glided rapidly downstream. The view across the river is of a seemingly timeless village nestled in the valley. It is simply a delight to have a snack, drink or dinner on the terrace above the fast flowing waters. The restaurant is exceptional for all meals and service courteous prompt and efficient. Parking is available in the private courtyard for no charge. We will return for a longer stay to give us the time to explore surrounding countryside and villages and simply to absorb the enchanting atmosphere.
